I wish I was the type of person who took risks. I wish other people would take risks. Not the "let me drive at insane speeds on the highway" risks, just, I dunno. "let me drop everything to go on a cross country roadtrip" sort of risk, I suppose. "let me quit this crappy job in order to pursue my dream of owning a llama farm." "Let me make a low budget, artistic film because I have this awesome idea, critics and money be damned." "Let me drop my guard just for once." "Let me do that one thing I've always wanted to but never had time to do it." "Let me be completely candid and totally honest with someone." "Let me "Let me start/join a band and play in teeny clubs in my hometown until we make it big."

Is 'let me' even the right verb...thing?

I most definitely in anytime you want to go on a cross-country road trip!!

...I just have to have a rich relative who I didn't know existed die first so we can pay for it. My friends and I tried to go cross country...in the end all we could afford was going to Washington, DC. It was fun, though!

Yay car trips!

Yes!! Complete with wrong turns and being lost in the desert! We should steal my dad's Prius since it has good gas mileage.

It wouldn't be a car trip without getting lost in a desert at *least* once!!

Yes, steal the prius! Yay for good gas mileage since gas is getting really expensive again.

There needs to be an Elvis impersonator in there somewhere.

He doesn't need it! He can take the Civic.

I do think 'let me' is the right verb... thing. The only problem I see with being a risk taker is that we think about the consequences to our actions. You bet that if I had some money, I'd throw everything down on one big dream and run off to do it (not without notifying you, and it'd probably sound like "When I make it big, I'll be back"). But we think too much for it.

But, if you ever get a spontaneous wish and I can help you fulfill it, I'll do everything in my power to accompany you on your 'mission' if you so wish. And I just need to get a car, and road trips might become a regular thing... if that's cool with you. Hell, I've got what I consider one hell of a risk already in mind... but I fear the outcome too much. Bah.

Yeah, consequences suck. But where would we be without consquences is the question.

ROADTRIP! Ok, so. One summer I'm going to gather up you and Sam and Elisa and anyone else who'd like to go and we'll pile into a car and travel the world! Or maybe just the US. You know, my aunt drove from Alaska to Mexico in a winnebego once.

Ok, now you have me deathly curious. What would such a risk entail?

Part 1
If 'we' were without consequences... Life would be a hell of a lot more fun. The consequence for jumping out of a plane with no parachute is death, but if death is a consequence, and we have no consequences, we'd be defying death and physics and we'd get ot enjoy what no other living soul on the planet could live to tell about. No matter what it was. Rob a bank, eat 14,000 gallons of ice cream and not die or get fat... or get a brainfreeze... Life would be totally awesome without consequences.

Part 2
Indeed... though I'll try to make it a little classier than a Winnebago... whatever that is. Apparently since you mentioned it as a feat of travel, it must not have been a great car...

Part 3
I kind of figured I'd drive you to deathly curiosity, but... I don't think I've quite got it down yet. It's a risk I'd love to take, I just have excruciatingly high hopes thst the outcome would be in my favor... and I'm not sure if it would be or not... thus far, I fear not, so I'll have to wait a bit longer. It's the kind of risk that gives you a pit in your stomach and you become psychosomatically ill about it. And if you ever find out, you might kinda laugh at how such a simple thing can get me all twisted up. ... So, perhaps later dear. Though I kind of wonder about your powers of deduction... meh.
